66% of nurse leaders plan to launch virtual nursing. What that means for your next role.
Virtual nursing is showing up in leadership plans. In the FutureCare Nursing 2025 survey by Wolters Kluwer Lippincott Solutions, based on feedback from 157 nurse leaders, 66% said they plan to launch telehealth nursing models.
Note the verb. “Plan to launch” is intent, not a count of live programs. It is still worth tracking.
Where the roles are appearing
The survey reports telehealth being used for admission support and post-visit follow-up, chronic disease management, behavioral health screening, and support roles for bedside RNs.
See the data
Two-thirds of nurse leaders are planning virtual nursing.
The FutureCare Nursing 2025 survey reads as intent, not live programs — and it names the doors in.
The leadership signal
“Plan to launch” is intent, not a count of live programs. Judge each posting on the program behind it, not the trend.
