The city
Reading sits in southeastern Pennsylvania's Berks County, where rolling farmland meets small-city grit. The former railroad and steel hub retains a blue-collar heartbeat with a growing Latino community shaping local markets and restaurants. Nearby Hawk Mountain offers weekend escapes for outdoor-minded nurses swapping bigger-city paychecks for a quieter, affordable Pennsylvania base.
