Embark Behavioral Health

Nurses at Embark work in a residential setting rather than a traditional hospital, providing medical support integrated with a broader behavioral health treatment program. The RN role encompasses medication administration, health assessments, emergency response, and close collaboration with psychiatrists, treatment teams, outside providers, and families. A significant portion of the nursing work involves behavioral monitoring, including skin checks for self-harm, de-escalation, and documenting mood and behavioral changes. Embark appears to function as a specialized behavioral health network rather than a general healthcare system, with nursing deeply embedded in the therapeutic milieu rather than operating as a standalone clinical department. Nurses are expected to participate actively in the treatment culture, communicating medical observations to the Treatment Team and Psychiatrist, and accompanying students to off-site clinics or hospitals when needed.
