Provides professional nursing care for the comfort and well-being of patients. Prepares equipment and assists physician during examinations and treatments. Administers prescribed medications, changes dressings, clean wounds, and monitors vital signs. Observes and maintains records on patient care, condition, reaction, and progress. Utilizes automated scheduling system (IDX) to schedule appointments and phone triage. Key areas include patient assessment, patient education, patient procedures, exam room readiness, prescription renewal, equipment availability, pre-certification/authorization, telephone triage, HIPAA/regulatory compliance, and team effectiveness. Requires knowledge of nursing, anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, equipment sterilization techniques, OSHA regulations, medical chart requirements, and IDX scheduling/registration system.
