About this role
Registered Nurses in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Kentucky Children's Hospital provide care for critically ill children ranging from newborn to 18 years of age. Patient conditions include recovery from major surgical procedures and life-threatening medical conditions as well as traumatic injuries. The PICU is a 12-bed unit that provides family centered care and open visitation for patients' immediate family members.
Requirements
- ADN (Associate Degree in Nursing) required
- Active Kentucky Registered Nurse (RN) license, Temporary Work Permit (TWP), Provisional License or active compact state RN license in good standing
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification valid for at least 6 months after employment date
- No experience required
- BSN + at least 1 year of RN experience preferred
- Must be able to work three 12-hour (7pm-7:30am) shifts per week
- Some weekends and holidays required
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 50-100 pounds on a daily basis
