Jennings Bryan Dorn VA Medical Center is actively recruiting for a Mental Health Registered Nurse Case Manager with 3 years' experience with seriously mentally ill adult population for Acute Service. As a responsible member of the Mental Health Outpatient team the incumbent demonstrates leadership in delivering and improving holistic care through collaborative strategies with others. He/she interacts with Veterans, family members, and an interdisciplinary team of professionals.

He/she is responsible for planning, administering and directing nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with intensive mental health needs. He/she must be poised and articulate in communicating with people of varied educational levels and varied ethnic backgrounds. The incumbent is responsible to ensure that the highest possible quality of care is achieved and that a safe therapeutic environment is provided. The Case Manager is involved in coordination of care through collaborative strategies in mental health clinics within the VA Medical Center. The Mental Health Case Manager is administratively responsible to the MHOP/CBOC Nurse Manager.

Requirements

U.S. Citizenship
RN License (full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory)
English Language Proficiency
3 years' experience with seriously mentally ill adult population
Background/security investigation
Drug screening (urinalysis)
Pre-employment physical examination
Seasonal influenza vaccination
