Develop and implement patient plan of care and observe outcomes in accordance with nursing standards and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. Demonstrate competency in a variety of therapeutic/diagnostic interventions including, but not limited to, IV's, incision/wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collections. Thorough and confidential maintenance of patient charts and records. Document ongoing status, interventions, patient response and outcomes in an accurate, timely manner. Use information technology to communicate, manage knowledge, mitigate error, and support decision-making. Promote, advocate, and collaborate to protect the health and safety and rights of each patient. Provide patient/family education through assessment of patient/family learning readiness, needs, and ability. Provide teaching and evaluate effectiveness of teaching. Previous OR Experience Required. Previous Experience with Neurological Surgeries required. $4.75 Specialty Team differential!! Day to Day
duties:
Circulate and/or Scrub on neuro service line. May float to main OR when volume is low or when needed. Other services include; Gen, Ortho (trauma) Neuro, Spine, Eyes, ENT, GU, Robotics (DaVinci XI/SI), Vascular, Endovascular, Cardiac, Trauma OB/GYN. Specialized teams for Cardiac, and Neuro, all Associates are cross trained for all other services. Giving breaks and/or providing additional supplies and sterile instruments as needed during operations. Assisting with Room turnover and restocking for next days cases. Acting as an advocate for patient before, during and after surgery. 17 OR Suites including 1 trauma room, a hybrid Room, Designated CVOR and a Cystoscopy Suite. Approx. 450-500 cases per month. Schedule- PRN- Variable days of week and start times per Surgical Volume and Current Unit needs. TBD with OR manager during interviews. Per policy PRN requires a Min availability for 5 shifts in a 6 week schedule block and 2 holiday per year. Call not required.
